Sorry Feen - couldn't let this one pass.
A "discussion forum" is one of the many things that Wikipedia "is not." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikiped...kipedia_is_not). That's Wikipedia.
A wiki can be for whatever you want to use it, and in this case the devs like to discuss stuff.

Snograt, I think he was referring more to the fact that wiki's are terrible means of communication because by their very nature they are not set up to "chat" or discuss. They are there for knowledge, to be an encyclopedia. There's no flow to a conversations on the wiki and is incredibly hard to use for that purpose. But technically, yes, you can use a wiki for what you'd like. Doesn't make it a good solution though.

Heh, just me then. I was with the official wiki from the start, so I guess I'm just used to that as a medium of communication

My Bad, guess I just never hovered over the hyperlink text "… other days" on the main page to learn THAT is the link to the URL with the schedule. I mean, why would I expect the hyperlink text to be something like... oh I don't know... "schedule" ?
Anyway TY

Actually Snog, the devs don't really like to discuss stuff, they just prefer to post the information that is and watch the shit hit the fan on the forums
The wiki is the perfect vehicle for this

If you want to talk wiki history, the people who set up and ran GuildWiki in the beginning are pretty much the exact same people who set up the Official Wiki when ArenaNet opted to create it, since that's who Anet turned to for help. There are still admins on GWW from that time period in fact. So.. that being said, I don't see your reasoning as valid in that regard. As far as documenting the game, I don't think you will find many on GWW (admin or not) that would block the addition of any information that is actually documenting the game. There are policies that have been developed by the community that contributors are asked to follow when adding documentation, but I've not found much opposition to creating pages that don't exist, or adding documentary information to pages that are already there.

Tbh, I consider a wiki a better tool for discussion than a forum.
